CONSTABLE CUP
The Constable Cup is a three-day Indian Fleet competition that was inaugurated nineteen years ago by the seven children of George Constable, a founding father of the fleet, in celebration of his eightieth birthday. The event consists of four parts: 1.The Long Distance Race, the winner of which will receive the Nancy Conrad Green Trophy; 2. Friday Fun Racing, which tests seamanship skills by subjecting sailors to nerve-wracking challenges such as sailing backwards or without a tiller; 3. Aesthetics, in which each crew is required to perform (on land) a skit based on a common theme, within a proscribed time limit. (Incidentally, this is the best show in town!) 4.The regularly scheduled Saturday One Design Fleet races.
