The purpose of the Nantucket International One Design Fleet Association, Inc. ("NIODFA") is to maintain a fleet of identical International One Design ("IOD") sailboats for the promotion of racing at the Nantucket Yacht Club ("NYC") and in the Nantucket community and for promoting interaction with other IOD fleets. The boats shall be maintained and raced according to a "one-design" ideal. In an effort to keep all boats as equal as possible, they shall be equipped, maintained and tuned in a like manner, thus focusing the competition on the skills of helmsperson and crew.
